You can have the best memories of places you have not often visited. Familiarity is therefore not a variable in the equation of how appealing and memorable situations and locations are. You only need the talent of capturing the moment. In the urban math photography is my calculus.

Think of a fruit and vegetable market in a phone booth. That would be the epitome of diversity in little space. This fascinates me so much about urban life and the places I have traveled to.

Furthermore, the exotic within the familiar often catches my eye. If I cannot find it I do not bother to stage my very own contrasting scene: How about a Swiss working in Canada in an Indian diner? That makes me urban.

そんなによく行かないのに、最高の思い出があったりする場所ってあるわよね。熟知しているということは、状況や場所がいかに人の心を動かし、忘れられないものかということに等しい変数ではないわ。あなたには瞬間を切り取る才能さえあればいいの。「urban」な数学においては、写真が私の計算式なの。

果物や野菜が公衆電話のブースので売られているところを想像してみて。小さなスペースの中の多様性の縮図になるわね。アーバンライフや旅行で訪れた場所などでのこういったものが、私を魅了してやまないことなの。

さらには、馴染みあるのものの中に潜むエキゾチックな部分に、特に目を奪われるわ。もしそういったものを見つけられなければ、自分自身で対照的なシーンを演出するの。例えば、カナダのインド料理屋で働くスイス人なんてどお？こういうのが、私を「urban」にしてるわ。
