Many objects have the tendency to look familiar at first sight, but a second glance mostly allows for new interpretations. Thanks to my imagination and slightly dark humor I have found my own language of art to play with the observer of my work.

In urbanity I see a double-edged sword. Art, fashion and trends are as much part of it as are waste, sewerage and courtyards that emerged of necessity. I am trying to catch these elements and combine it with my art, but that is not the key to being urban.

I have a medical certificate of a 59% dyscalculia. Maybe this makes dealing with money a bit harder at times, but generally it gives me the great opportunity to perceive digits in three out of five cases as cultural artwork instead of numbers or counts. That makes me urban.

多くの物体は、最初に見たときになんとなく見覚えがある気がするものだけれど、2度目にちらりと見ることで新しい解釈が生まれることがあるんだ。自分の想像力とちょっとしたダークなユーモアで、僕の作品をみてくれる人とやりとりするための僕自身にとってのアートの意味ってのを見つけることができたんだ。

「urbanity」のなかに僕は、諸刃の剣を見ているんだ。アートやファッション、トレンドといったものは、廃棄物、下水道、中庭みたいに必要性から生まれたものと同じようなもの。僕はこういう要素をキャッチして、自分のアートと組み合わせることによって作品に反映させようとしてるんだ。でも、これが「urban」であることの鍵となるものではない。

僕には59％の計算力障害があるという診断書があるんだ。時々、金銭処理とかが難しいのはこのせいかもしれないんだけれど、5回のうち3回くらいは、数字を番号や勘定ではなく、文化的なアート作品として認識するというすばらしい機会を与えてくれてるんだ。こういったことかな、僕を「urban」にしているのは。
