My grandmother mimics the Japanese perfectly. She also knows where in Germany people are all hat, no cattle. Her profound urban knowledge is amazing, but to me, urbanity refers to something wider and more extensive than a few simple characteristics. And anyways, you cannot be urban through another person.

I am quick-witted, be aware. If you ask me about my opinion I am ready in a jiffy to give you at least two versions – traditionally the soft and the hard one. So, be careful what you are asking for, because you might get it. That is how I am – not how urbanity is.

Call it inquisitiveness or childlike curiosity. It does not matter to me – both describe me well. I love to stroll around in new cities, discover the hidden treasures of them, wine and dine and shop until I drop. Bottom line, I think I am pretty urban.

知的好奇心とか子供のような好奇心とか言ったりするけれど、どっちでもいいわ。両方とも私のことをよく表す言葉だから。知らない都市を歩き回って、隠された宝物を発見したり、倒れちゃうくらいまでワインを飲んだり、ご飯を食べたり、買い物したり、、。そんなことが大好き。要するに、私ってばかなり「urban」だと思う。
